A 22 inch bass that Don Elliott from Fremont caught at the Fremont Lakes. Friend of mine who actually gets to go out fishing! Made the Masters Angler award in Nebraska.

Big fish in Fremont State lakes?
Here's the proof. Don Elliott from Fremont caught this huge bass in Fremont State lakes outside of Fremont Nebraska. It was big enough to earn him his master anglers award. Don landed a crappie that was also large enough to earn him masters angler award for it. You can see a picture of it on Nebraka Game & Parks website. You got to check it out, it's one big crappie. And I always thought the best fishing was in Missouri. Don spends a lot of time out at the lakes, but he also knows where and how when it comes to fishing the lakes. I expect we'll see more from him.

Fremont State lakes are located west of Fremont on Military. The lakes are actually the pits left, when a sand mine company left. It has now become a great recreational area for fishing, camping, and boating. The lakes have an area set aside for jet skies, although many jet skiers still stay out with the bigger boats, which cause a few mishaps from time to time. Fremont state lakes is a state park, so make sure you have your state park permit when you enter, without, it could cost you a pretty penny.

Looks peaceful, doesn't it?
Here comes Memorial Day, and you are thinking about going camping. Well, if it's at the Fremont State Lakes, good luck. In order for a person to get a spot to camp at the lakes, you must take your camper out to the lakes days before, leave it there, and pay for all the days you really aren't out there. What would be real nice, is if they would take reservations, much like in Missouri. I know they probably make good money by not having anyone really there, but, it also plugs up a system, in which many people travel, need a spot to stay, and can't because the lakes have become a storage facility. If you read this, and this bothers you, contact the management at the lakes and complain. Otherwise, it will never change.
